I know that front brakes are normally larger but, just wondering if it is possible to put front rotors on the rear wheels, or will they not fit. I am going to get a set of upgraded brakes in stock sizes and wondered if there is something that will keep them from not fitting the rear wheels.
Are you talking just the rotor or everything? I don't see how the caliper would line up. Also the pad in the rear is much smaller then the front so I don't think it's possible unless you swap the caliper back there too. Plus the bracket. I doubt you can just swap those front to back. Interesting idea though.... I am curious if anyone has done this.
Just trying to see if the rotors will fit or if there is anything that will hinder that. I have 18x9.5 fronts and 18x10.5 rears. I am just going with some factory size rotors and just want to have an even distribution. I know most of the stopping force is in the front but, I figure increasing the rear wouldn't hurt at all.
I bet it would work as long as you take off the caliper bracket and calipers from the front and install them in the rear. You definitely will not be able to use the rear caliper or bracket. It is too small. Let us know if you do it. My money is on it working.
I just did a drill and slotted conversion this weekend. Piece of cake. All 4 corners in less then an hour.
Keep in mind the off-set in the rear for the parking brake... I had a problem when I did mine and they sent me 4 fronts I tried just for kicks and they won't slide on.

Why not just get the Baer EradiSpeed + 2 Rear Kit. It has a 14" Inch Rear Rotor? I have the Eradispeed + 2 Front also it is a 13.35 Rotors. All you have to do is install Brackets and the Rotors ... EASY!

I have seen a c5 with Front Brakes on the Rear. Front 2 piston Calipers on the front and rear. 12.75 Rotors on all 4 corners. He had to make a Custom Bracket and had no parking Brake.

Forum member Mean Green 2000 did this on his car a long time ago. Not sure if he is still a member of the forum, but you might want to see if you can contact him and he can provide you some valuable insight as to what he did to make it work.

I put this Baer EradiSpeed+2 kit on my 99 FRC. Very easy to do and KILLER LOOKS, especially those 14" rear rotors. Cost was $1,300 from West Coast Corvettes.

Yeah I forgot about the parking brake but who needs that anyway
I just did this. I bought 2 new front abutments,2 new front calipers and 4 new front drilled and slotted rotors. Powder coated all 4 abutments black. Powder coated all 4 font calipers red. Removed shoes from emergency brake drums. Installed new rotors, abutments and calipers with new speed bleeders and ceramic pads. They look and work awesome, and all for about $600.00.
The C5 brakes system is biased for larger brakes in the front, also the front provides somthing like 70% of a cars braking power.
How are you guys compensating for the larger rear rotors ie more rear braking power?
This seems like a cosmetic only mod that might in fact decrease the cars braking performance.

This is the way to go. Straightforward bolt-on,parking brake, lots more stopping power, and brake bias is handled electronically.
