Default c5 maintenance/upgrades

i bought a used 99 C5 with 72 miles on it
right before i bought it the guy who owned it for c ouple months had the valve cover gaskets replaced.
i had it at the dealer to have a abs light/tcs light issude reolved (ended up having new abs computer installed) did teh trick
also had the dealer replace belts and do an oil change.
i bought new brembo stock replacemnt rotors and ebc red pads that i will install myself. planned to lower the car all the way on the stock bolts at the same time.
i also bought a reman waterpump which i was going to do myself, but have reconsidered and want a shop to do it now.
i also plan to get the obx long tubes. i've heard that's def something i dont wanna tackle myself.
i need to find a shop in north jersey that's competent with C5s and was wondering what else i should do at the same time.
like, i assuemd i should have plugs/wires replaced at the same time, right?
thanks for any advice/recommendations.

is a lower temp thermostat worth it?
car already has an intake and exhaust. clutch seems fine
already had the dealer replace brake shoes for ebrake.
does anyone make shoes with a more aggressive material?
i will be drifting the corvette a little (4-5 times a year) and i've heard ebrakes of this type need an aggressive shoes to have good abrupt traction braking grabs.

WOW! 72 miles in 10 years. Did you mean 72,000 miles? The only other thing to add would be a good tune after the header install. Woke my 99 up!!!

i also plan to get the obx long tubes. i've heard that's def something i dont wanna tackle myself. This will liven up your car especially since you already have the intake and exhaust to go with it.

i assuemd i should have plugs/wires replaced at the same time, right? Yes definitely change these, again something that you can easily do but I would wait till the headers are on.

already had the dealer replace brake shoes for ebrake. WHY? Seems crazy the it should have needed new shoes. does anyone make shoes with a more aggressive material?

i will be drifting the corvette a little (4-5 times a year) Good luck with your drifting excursions.

yeah, i meant 72k miles
perhaps previous owner drove a bit with the parking brake on?
parking brake was basically worthless when i bought the car. it wouldnt hold the car on a small hill even.

anyone know shops in northern new jersey that specialize in corvettes that they would recommend??

You don't need new shoes. You just need to adjust them. It's not that hard to do. I thought i needed new ones also when I first got mine and when I got to the old ones on the car it seemed like they had barely been used they just hadn't been adjusted the right way.

If you have the spare time I would suggest that you do the installs yourself. The headers will probably require a friend to help you get them in there but the job is actually pretty simple. Can be done without a lift. If you don't have the time and don't want to bother working on the car then post a thread in your regional section asking about local shops.
