Default My first Vette

I just bought my first vette. 99 Black FRC 6spd. It has a B&M short throw shifter, mine is pretty stiff. are they all stiff or is the linkage out of alignment or seizing up? Also, it has a Vortex cold air intake and, it came with a Hypertech programmer. The car was never programed, I know this because the box wasn't even opened yet. Are they worth using and what type of results can I expect to see? Thanks.
