i was wondering if anyone has ever raced a gt500 with their vette. a guy in town has one and was saying how its faster than anything around etc... so i was thinking about inviting him to the local drag strip for a friendly little race im 370 rwhp and will have some m/t drag radials and some drag racing experience... him stock tires/car and no experience as far as i can tell.... so i guess im asking what you think the outcome will be im hoping some of you have some experience racing one
If I am a betting man I am on you all the way....The weight advantage and running drag radials. The mustangs are heavy and starving for traction. Good Luck
you can bet i will get it all on video ... i watched a gt500 run last year in street trim ran in the 14's and 15's spinning allllllll the way so i hope that the big mouth in town drives like him lol
A friend of mine runs his stock vette a (Vert ,M6) with drag radials at Atco and runs in the low 12's I do think you will win.. He is on the forum as Capt Huff
The GT500 is a supercharged 500hp/480tq (flywheel) 12.8 ride. I would think that a Z06 should handle it without a problem, and C5 coupe would be a drivers race.
the gt500 are pretty slow cause of there weight and the also have an irs so people have a harded time launching.... but on the other side if u puts a smaller pulley and a tune u better watch out lol
oh my bad... i raced one at the eirt and he had slicks pulley and a tune... his 60" on our race was a 1.87 and he was revving a 4500... he told me he had an irs that y his 60"s would suck but i guess he lied

The "advertized" #s are in the low 13s from what I've seen, even though magazines will "try and try" until they get a low # to publish
I don't think a "inexperienced" driver (per OP) can cut 12's with a six speed and on stock tires.
