Default Installing CLB This Weekend - One Question

I received my CLB from Corvettes Of Dallas and will be installing it this weekend. My car has had the lockplate removed under recall so I believe I will find the GM K harness relay in place when I get the bolster off. The directions with the CLB says to use the supplied 12V adapter (in cigarette lighter) to energize and retract the column locking pin. When I read the directions generally recommended on this site, it says to used ignition switched power to retract the pin and then to remove fuse # 25. Is there an advantage to either method?

I just did the ignition power, remove fuse 25 method about 3 hours ago, and worked like a charm. My car also had both recalls done as well.

Go for it.

Ether method accomplishes same thing so there is no better or worst. Using the cigarette lighter accomplishes this without messing with fuses but again it is all the same.
