Two months ago I bought an 03 Z06 TR R/B interior with 7k on it. I just love this car! However, I noticed day 1 that on the passenger side rocker panel just above the brake duct I have a 1/4" gap. So I got down under there but I can't find where it has hit on a curb or anything. Where the rocker has the indention for a jack point there is a small piece of fiberglass crushed where someone didn't lift it properly. This is very minor but I'm thinking this relates to my gap. What can be done to fix the gap? If I take it to a body shop can they take care of it easily? I have looked at other Z's and I see this on some but not on others so I'm hoping someone knows what I'm talking about. Thanks for your time.
My 04 has about 1/8th in. gap, also if you don't want further damage to your rocker panels get some jacking pucks and keep in your vette. The few times I have taken my 04 to the dealer for warranty service I had them use the jacking pucks so as not to damage the rockers!!! I have seen serious damage to rockers from so called GM service techs.
