They break up what can be a pretty big expanse of door. I think they
give the car a better linear look. I think the cars look better with them on.

Door Dings? On Plastic doors? Or do you mean paint chips (which my BSMs are full of)?

I have comtemplated removing mine but I wondered if it would show on a 12 year old Red car. Jeez...1997 - 2009 is 12 years. The paint is still in excellent shape, but I still wonder....

While I don't really dislike them,,I don't care FOR them!! I vote REMOVE!! Vettes have a curvy, kinda sexy lines. The BSMs are kinda out of place, style wise!! But that is just my opinion,,but I would venture a guess there are others that feel this way too!!

I have to say, paint chips in the BSMs would bother me just as much as chips in the door itself. I am like most everyone else here and park as far away from everyone else as possible if I park in a lot.

It's a poll -- so you should do what WE want

I remember back in '97 that I thought the BSM added some interest to the car and further distinguished it from the Gen III RX7. Over the years, I've come to think C5s look better without them and voted accordingly.

That having been said, mine is a DD so the BSM's are staying.

Seriously, I think whatever you like would look great. I think the painted rear lower fascia would look great as well.

I took mine off. It gives the car a much cleaner look.... just my .02.

Without hesitation, remove the BSM's.

At first I was unsure but once they came off it was 10X better then with them on.

I'm glad I was able to entertain you. I'll be here all week folks. Please remember to tip your wait staff!

On a serious note, I think regardless of keeping or removing the BSMs the lower fasica would look sweet painted.

That's an idea, ...... an idea

BTW I planned on removing them all along, I did the editing just to see what it would look like before I actually did it in for real. Thought everyone might enjoy my meager photoshop skills and thanks to the Mods for not killing this thread for being redundant.
