Just wanted to post an intro in the section I belong in on here. I just got a 2002 Z06 and I am loving it! I'm looking forward to learning a lot on here and getting some advice on mods etc. I am planning on daily driving the car as well as auto crossing/tracking the car. I am also hoping to find a good club in the orange county area.
Welcome to the site. You are luckier than I to have actually gotten your hands on your Z. I am still searching and trying to procure mine.
Also, I just skimmed through your blog. Sounds like an amazing story and somewhat of a miracle. I ride too (not sure if you still do, the Z may be the replacement for that need) so these stories hit close to home for me. Congratulations on all you've overcome and glad to hear life is well for you.
Thanks for the welcome guys, I am loving my Z so far! I spent a good part of the day yesterday claying the car so now I just need to do the interior and then do a regular wax on the car.
The blog is a little crazy. It is deff a huge miracle that I am alive and not completely paralyzed. I flat lined three times in the first 24 hours, spent 8 days in a coma, spent 6 mo in the hospital and lost most of the use of my right hand. So to say the least I am lucky to be alive. But now after all that I'm married have a new career going and just got a vette I don't ride anymore, although I miss it all the time but that is why I got the Z06. sorry for the tangent guys....
If I hear you get a motorcycle, I'll come out there and join your parents and wife and give you a spanking! You played that game and won- you are still alive. I feel the same way- I crashed once, but I wasn't as badly injured as you- just turned half my body into hamburger meat- I was a giant scab for about three weeks! The addiction of cycling will pass as time goes by. You will enjoy your zo6 and every time you get in it, it will put a smile on your face. There is so much knowledge here, but I want to make suggestion. Do the column lock bypass if it has not been done! This forum has saved me a fortune and allowed me to take care of common issues like the column lock, door lock relays, abs computer and helped me install a double din alpine nav and dvd unit. ANd if you are into performance mods- forget about it- it's all here.
and Welcome!
