If you are good with electronic installs, I guess you can do it yourself. If not, best to leave the install to a pro. Too many electronic components on the C5 to just start installing more stuff.
Not sure where to get a kit - perhaps a shop that specializes in security alarms/car audio installs.
I had it in my '96,great to have to preheat or to cool the interior.
I installed it in my F250 9 or 10 years ago, not too bad but would have a pro do it to my Vette if i could (manual). I would surely have it done if you live in AZ.
Its fairly simple to do. To bypass the GM VATS you will need a relay and a resistor as the same value as your key. Other then that, everything in the remote start box is all you need. I do car electronics for a living so let me know if you have any questions. If you are planning on having the remote start control your door locks as well, you will need to run wires into the door for that function.
