I was driving today and while I was comming to a stop, my service abs and service traction control lights came on. The ground was completely dry and I was going slow when I applied the brakes. Funny thing is that when I parked my car and drove it for about 20 miles the errors would not come back on.... Any ideas. The car is an 02z with 12000 miles on it. Any info would be great. Thanks!

Pull the code and post the code number(s) you get on the dic.

Sounds like the dreaded Electronic Control Brake Module (EBCM) They tend to go bad in these cars. It is a $700.00 part but you can get them rebuilt. Check out this post for more info http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-z...1214-code.html
I was talkin to someone that had this problem before and said it was the battery. I know that the battery seems like it is going bad but I don't understand how that would cause the problem, but this guy is a pretty knowledgable guy so..... Sound like a possiblity to anyone else?

Any codes? It could be a number of things, a loose wheel sensor, a dirty sensor, a failed sensor, a bad ecbm, a problem with the abs. Try to pull the codes, and post them on here, it'll make things somewhat easier to diagnose.
no one can really help you until you pull the codes..
to do this put the key to the on position (not start)
press and hold down the options button
while holding the options button down press the fuel button three times.. it will then display codes for ya!
The 1214 is the relay in the ecbm(Thank Bill Dearborn for telling me this). The others I don't know off the top of my head, but I'll look them up. anyone else? (the ecbm can be rebuilt by www.absfixer.com) the u1000h is a loss of communication undertermined history code, the b2284 is battery#2 fault history code. reset the codes, start the car see if they come back. The loss of communication/battery #2fault seem to be battery related. Have the battery checked, these cars are very sensitive to flucations. My ECBM thew codes from time to time for about 3 months, then stopped working. I replaced it with the absfixer deal, real simple to remove/install. Just be sure to have a "T" handle type torx driver, the "L" shaped ones suck for this.

If you are having battery problems fix those first. C1214 indicates there is insufficient voltage to run the pump motor in the BPMV. If the voltage drops less than 8 volts this code is set. If the relay in the EBCM fails this code can be set as well which means the EBCM has to be repaired or replaced. The other code indicates there are voltage problems with the left door. So first fix your voltage problems before getting into more expensive options.

I never got around to it last year. When I get it tuned in a couple of weeks, my tuner said he would know what is causing the problem. Its probably a wheel speed sensor. I will update as soon as I find out this month.
I did mine last year. I sent it to absfixer.com. As time went on, the lights would come on more frequently until the unit failed. It's pretty common and apparently the rebuilt unit by absfixer is better than a new one as he replaces the weak electronics with better quality components...and he guarantees his work. It's all part of the deal in owning a c5, along with the column lock, and door control modules,etc... It won't hurt anything to drive with a failed module, you just won't have abs, active handling or traction control...like the old hot rods us old guys used to drive!
If I scan this with a Tech2 and it says its a front left wheel speed sensor, is it possible for the EBCT to still be bad? What I don't want to do is buy a new sensor and it was the EBCT the whole time. What I trying to know is how exactly would I know if that is the problem?
Well I had the car scanned while it was being tuned and my guy said it was the right rear wheel sensor. I also replaced the old batter that was in the car. I have not replaced the sensor yet because I heard the old battery could have caused the light to come on. If it comes on again I am going to change the sensor. Just thought I would give you guys an update.....
