Found this thread will researching another issue. Luckily not a problem for me yet, added a piece of hose as preventative measure. Thanks for pointing this potential problem out. And heres a bump for the next guy!

I went out and photographed my 2002. It appears they corrected the routing issue as mine are definitely nowhere near that raised seam and are held in place firmly.
