I have a 01 Torch Red coupe and I have been thinking of adding fender stripes. I have looked at vettestripes and they have two toned stripes that may look nice. They are wide black with a thin gray edge. Has anybody uses there kits and what do you think about them?
I too have used vettestripes and Mike is great to work with.
The install is very easy if IF
1.)clean the fender really well. And I mean under the hood and under the fender lip.
2.)you get a squirt botlte and mix up some water and baby shampoo. Yes baby shampoo. Any thing without aloe.
3.)Mike has instructions on his site that you should follow.
You do that and you will have stripes on your car with no problems.
Mike sells awesome stripes. When I bought mine, it was a 3 stripe package, so I could have two of the same size or offset sizes.
Just clean your fender really well and spray a solution of water and dish soap on the area. Or, like I did, go to wal-mart and get a tint application kit for like $7 and it comes with spray and a plastic/rubber "scraper" to smooth out the decal.
Total installation time is like 15 minutes to get it cleaned and applied and straightened out. Since it's a wet application, you have all the time you need to get it straight and even and spaced however you please.
I've had mine on for two years now, with the car stored outside uncovered. Decals are still like new.
FWIW, there are no specific measurements or guidelines on fender stripe installation. This gets asked a lot. Just look at pictures of other cars and decide what you think looks good on your car and eyeball your stripes on to the fender.
Does anyone know who makes the fender/door cove stripes?
They're sort of a U shape with the tips of the U tapering and pointing to the rear?
Corvettestripes.com doesn't have them.

Thanks. Sounds like a plan. You mentioned you've had yours for two years. Good to hear they are not peeling or fraying. Any special car when you wash or polish/wax your car? Obviously I don't want to run a porter cable over the stripes right?
