Default C5 Option Packages ?

I am sure this has been asked or may be a really stupid question.
I have been looking around for a C5 and waiting to snag up a really good deal on one. The question I have is what year did they start with the heads up option? What other options comes with this feature also please.

I see some with it and some without but have not seen them in the 98 99 years so I am thinking they didnt come out with it until 00 correct? For some stupid reason I only want one that has this option in it with the sport seats also. I just dont like the look of the plain solid back seats I have seen in some.

Lsat question still to so with the heads up thing. Why is it I see 2000 C5's with heads up but not one 01 Z06 has heads up this year? I saw a great deal on an 01 Z06 without heads up and passed due to that.

Thank You

This is where I did a lot of this type of research when looking for mine: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/corvet...ifications.htm

It looks HUD didn't come out till 99, but I found it hard to find a car with it that wasn't at least a 2000. Z06s had it standard in 02, but I don't think they were available for them when they first came out. The HUD and the sport seats were my two biggest requirements for finding a C5.
The 1SC preferred equipment group gave you dual power memory sport seats, autochromatic mirrors, HUD, automatic climate control, fog lights, power telescoping wheel, luggage shade, and some other stuff. It seemed like anytime I found a HUD car, it was because it was part of this group. I guess people who bought C5s brand new wanted either all or nothing when it came to options.

The HUD came out in MY '99 - mine had it. At that time, it was a stand alone option on the car.

I've seen a few threads on here addressing the subject and it sounds very possible. If I remember correctly you need the projector, control panel, and a new dash pad and possibly a HUD dash bezel (for a finished look).

The dash pad is very easy to cut for the HUD projector, as a matter of fact they are marked where to cut underneath.

You'll also need the HUD ribbon cable... I believe all 99 and up IPCs are fitted with the HUD connector already. BTW my 99 has HUD, love that silly thing!
