I asked for you to send your old car magazines to the troops and what happened was beyond my expectations. I can't tell you how many boxes of old car magazines and care packages went out to our troops, but there was a lot.
I wish I could remember all the people who contacted me and told me about the boxes they sent out and one of the Corvette forum guys sent out so many boxes he gathered from the local car clubs and his friends that it was astounding. If believe he sent out nearly 100 boxes of magazines alone. I hope you are reading this and choose to identify yourself. Was is Blueskylover? All of you who sent a box should identify yourselves and tell us your stories. I'm sure many of you got some feedback from some of the troops.
Now that Memorial Day is upon us again, I wanted to remind all of you again of the need for our current service members to receive care packages.
It's Christmas every day when you can give to our troops.
I'm in Iraq right now as a truck driver. My buddies wife sent a whole box of car magazines from her car dealership along with some snacks. It was awsome getting that giant box. I also recieved a subscription to Grassroot Motorsports (one of my favorite magazines) for Christmas and my parents mail over each issue when it comes in the mail. I bring about 5 car magazines out in my backpack I bring out on missions so that I can read them when I am waiting in my truck to leave a base on mission.
It is soooooo awsome knowing that peopel back home still remember those of us that are over here and take the time to send over stuff.
THANKS for anyone that has ever sent something to the troops over here!
PS I will be home in about 2 months and can't wait to drive a Corvette again...it will be WAY better than riding around on my bike:
Thanks, Eric, for everything you're doing over there. I wish you a safe and speedy trip home. Thank all of your Buds, too. You guys are doing an awesome job!
