I mounted one to the frame under the light, but be sure to place as far forward as possible as there may be clearance issues. You may want to hand lower the light the first time to make sure it clears.

No pictures, But I mounted mine under the head lights, There is an access pannel on the bottom of each side under the car. Lots of room and you don't have to worry about the HID wires going across the hood hinges.

You can mount them anywhere where there is room that doesn't interfere with the operation of the headlights (wires also). The C5 has tons of space to mount ballasts.
