Ok, I'm on my way to work yesterday and decided to take some back road way that has a few turns with ups and downs rather then the straight boring main highway. Getting into the feel of a nice day, dry roads and did I mention I was running a little late for work, I found myself more then a few digits over the legal limit. Just when I am really enjoying the road under my Corvette and the sound of the wind blowing past the windows I crest a slight hill and guess who is looking right at me with radar! SH&%#@!!!! With little beads of sweat rapidly forming on my forehead I keep checking my rear view mirror. I figured I've been nailed, but what's this?? No movement at all from the radar toting car? I continued to check and recheck the mirror and nothing!
So, was he/she sleeping, eating, being a nice guy or does the Vett carry an added feature not advertised, like stealth properties? Anyone else have this type of experience?
I know that chilling feeling passing a cop knowing you were speeding. Just this past week they were doing radar i was driving my truck probably 5 over. I slow some and he starts to walk out into the road to point me over when all of a sudden a chick in a red VW bug comes flying up my side then slams the brakes. He pointed her over. I almost died i was seriously like wow i can't believe how lucky i was. He may have been walking out for her all along but it sure did look like he wanted me!
I swear i will be on some back roads with the vette doing some spirited driving and right when i decide to get on it i see a cop...always my luck.
WOW, here is Sunny FLA they neew the $$ to much to let that slide. You may be stealth
Really I wonder about this! It would be nice to know if the vett has a little less radar return then other vehicles enough to make a difference? Maybe I should just go buy the lotto tickets!!

The C5 corvette does have a much smaller radar-cross section.
People confuse the meaning of Stealth all the time.
You can buy all the fancy radar detectors in the world, have a lower vette radar cross section but you miss the most important part.
It's all about the kill chain - detect, lock, intercept and write you. The objective of stealth is to compress the chain so an adversary can't react fast enough. So he detects you, locks you - petal to the metal, if he can't intercept you, he can't write you.

Nope, remember all cops are jeolous of Corvette owners thats why we harass them cause none of us get the chance to own Corvettes!
Could have been lots of reasons! Maybe the radar gun missed your car or maybe the look on your face was priceless enough and he got a good laugh out of it so he decided that was punishment enough!
I have done that where people have gone by speeding, seen the look on their face, had a good laugh about it and just let them go!
