Welcome to our passion!
The letters can be painted as well. I'm pretty sure there's a stickie on how to do it. That's how I did the front and back and it's held up well.
Welcome! Regarding lettering...I went with an acrylic mirror type finish (link below) for front and back, I've had lots of compliments. I don't know about the stainless letters, but personally I like the mirror finish, and seemingly lighter weight acrylic offers. This was my first "mod"... then there was the trunk popper, the window valet, exhaust plate, dual emblem floor mats, catch can...you get my idea...what I would suggest is you run for your life now before you get sucked into this forum like the air through one of those C5 Supercharger kits offered by West Coast Corvette....my 2 cents :^)
O yes...if you get the lettering on, make sure to clean/wash from left to right over the letters, otherwise you might catch the rag on the points of letters "R" and "V". I did just that and had to dab a small drop of super glue on the "V" so it again lays flat.
