I just reciever my Cyberdine Stearing Wheel Insert and I am ready to install it.
I want the install to be perfect.
Do I have any realignment ability when the sticky tape touches the wheel or is just one shot and it better be right the first time?
Looking for your experiance. Thanks in advance.
Robert, clean the steering wheel pad very well with denatured alcohol. Take your time, line it up and press on. Mines been on for years and never had a problem with it.

Do not skip this step! Also, be prepared not to jump if the horn goes off!

Followed this to do mine so far no issues i also used a hair drier to help dry faster.
Ahhhhh. My very first mod...the steering wheel insert. Little did I know that mods are the crack of Corvette owners . Now thousands and thousands of dollars later, I still want to mod. What ever you do don't, repeat, don't put it on Now I'm off to do that smooth and painted engine cover mod......
You should know that the flag pole tails will not normally reach to the bottom of the embossed logo. Just make sure that most of the logo is covered - no big deal but it could be if you use the bottom for alignment. Ask me how I know!!
Thanks for all the help.
The insert is now installed "perfectly". It is amazing how such a small mod addition can make such a huge differance in the appearance of the interior.

Congrats! Be careful when you clean around the decal. The end points can fray and corner up if you get a rag caught behind it.
I just my insignia. The Cyberdine website says to clean the steering wheel with mild soap and water. Will ignore and use the denatured alcohol instead. I haven't opened it yet, but will assume there is a sticker on the back of the insignia that peels off.

Mine came mounted on a transparent piece of plastic so you could see the adhesive on the back of the insert.
Be careful not to bend the insert as it is quite fragil especially by the lower poles.

One great tip that I can share on the install of the Cyberdine decals, as well as another product with adhesive on the back -
Use Scotch Tape.....apply Scotch tape to the front surface, leaving about an inch top an bottom. Use the tails of the tape to hold the decal and position it in exactly where it needs to be. The tape gives you someplace to hold the product without having to touch the adhesive back. The oils from your skin will reduce the adhesive's "stickability".
Another tip is to use the 3M Adhesive Promoter, it doesn't always come with your purchase but it is available in automotive paint stores. I'm ordering some that comes in single use packets. I'll have it for when someone orders product from me.
Just put my Cyberdine insignia on. No problem. Cleaned the heck out of the horn pad with denatured alcohol. Tested the stickiness with scotch tape before putting on the insignia. Lined up the sticker at the top and worked it on. Hopefully it is good to go. And yeh, the horn did go off. Makes a racket in the garage.

I have blue, red and oak available, along with blue, yellow and oak airbag letters for the passenger side. Let me know, if you're interested in any of these colors....this is all I have left.
Thanks for all the help.

This was the first mod I performed on my all black interior. I had been through 4 vinyl decals before I found this 3D decal. Luckily I bought two of them and still have an extra tucked safely away.
I've had it on for about three years and the corners are starting to fray a little bit.
I would really like to eventually paint the decal to make it more permanent, however I know I don't have the artistic skills to do it.
