Default C5 Mystery

Hi Everyone!

I've lost all confidence in the dealer I bought my 98 from. So once again, I'm turning to the experts, you all!

I've still got this ping issue going on. I did the upper engine SeaFoam treatment and I didn't get any smoke out the back or anywhere for that matter. I'm thinking the previous owner made some engine mods and I just need to have a tuner do the voodoo they do! So first, does anyone have any recommendations who I should take it to in the Denver area?

Second, I know the air intake was changed, it has the dual conical airfilters in the front. I believe the mass airflow sensor was changed also. It also has a adjustable fuel pressure regulator on it which I don't believe is stock (?). Why would you install an adjustable fuel pressure regulator? (new injectors maybe)

Given these few clues, what do you think might have been done and what do you think a simple shade tree mechanic like my self could verify.

Thanks everyone!

tom

See if you can find the previous owner and see what he did as far as mods.
Tuner for sure...i had a C4 that was modded and it took me awhile
to get that car lined out, good luck.

Not familiar with any tuners in your area, but if you can find a good one, they can work wonders on the car's performance. Good luck.

Thanks everyone!

There is a Good Guys car show in Loveland CO this weekend. I think I'll run up there to see if I can find a good tuner (I may look at a few of the cars while I'm there!)
