I don't see any information in the owners manual on raising the 97 at home. I see pucks for sale in various catalogs. I want to paint my calipers, and install contoured splash guards- but do not want to damage anything in the process.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What I do is drive up on 2x6 boards so I can get the jack under the car then I put a 2x4 across the jack and jack the car up on the cross member in the front and rear. Be sure to use jack stands.

The C-5 frame has slots in the bottom at the location for jack placement. Lifting pucks can be very cheaply made from hockey pucks with screw eyes threaded in the middle and twisted into the slot in the frame. Some leave them in place, I don't. The slots are located a bit back on each side of the frame. Of course you need a floor jack and at least two jack stands for lifting and securing the car when working on it.
I know there are several posts with pictures attached. Did you try a search?
Thanks for the prompt feedback. This is the first dry day we have in a week in Maryland. I finally get the weather to cooperate and got stumped on a technicality. Thanks again.
I also drive up on some wood and jack from the crossmember. My stance is slammed so up front I drive up on some custom ramps I made from 2 2x6's and a single 2x6 out back. Then I put a jack under the front crossmember with a piece of wood and jack it up and place jackstands on the cross member. Same procedure in back, only need 1 2x6 though to fit the jack in the rear. Hope this helps!
Thanks Mike. No I didn't do a search for that. I'm new to this site and still figuring out how to navigate through all of its options. I thought the best way to get started was to check the pool of seasoned veterans here.
I drive up on rhino ramps for the front and a 2x4 for the rear. Then use a 2x4 on the jack placed like the video clip. I feel safer with a 2x4. Once the car is up at the desired height, I put jack stands under each end of the 2x4 which is cut to be the size of the cross member (or close). I've also put jack stands under the hockey pucks when I wanted more clearance at the front of the car and didn't want the jack stands in the way.
My hockey pucks do not stay in place very well when I twist them. Maybe the screw eyes in mine are too small (got them on that auction site)
Superman, I'd really love to see a full size version of your avatar! Sweet
For what he wants to do with painting his calipers....which method is best? The side puck lift and do one wheel at a time? Or go from the front (in this example..not rear) and lift the whole front up and jack stand it??..or no difference
