Mileage checkin people. My car and I have made it to 400,000 miles. Around the end of last year, had to rebuild my tranny because of the sprag spring. It's been solid and us course, being my 3rd Vette, loving it even better than the 1st.
Next mission later this year is replacing all my springs(shock & leaf), boots, links, and even thou there's nothing wrong with the engine, a nice fresh engine naturally putting out at least 500hp to put a supercharger. I might consider the turbo, but feel the supercharger is more friendly.

Reason: add pic....
I got my '99 Vette in Nov. of '99 out a show room after I couldn't find a sl500. So glad those plans didn't happen, even thou I looked high & low. Believe it or not, my 1st year I had put about 75k on the od.
The service managers at the 2 dealers I use to go to in area claimed they had a running pool on what my mileage would be when they saw me again. My 1st Vette in '94 was candy apple red, got it brand new and sold in '96 with 125k on the od. The apple of my eye was my '96 polo green w/the tan interior. Got that brand new and sold in '99 when I got my c5. The '96 ended up with 250k on the od.
With all that said, I enjoyed my stupidity. The stories my cars could tell. I just enjoy driving. Funny thing is that I was holding down a full time job M-F, 8am-5pm and married. I don't know where I founded the time to do all that, but I did.
As for the interior on the '99, the carpet is really in great shape. However, of course the seats aren't what they should be. The factory seat skin held up for about 3yrs, but the driver side around the boost or rib area near the door was really the place to show wear. I replaced with some custom skins in the later of '03 & they did the same thing as the factory. My passenger seat is always in great shape since I do alot of solo rolling.
I upgraded the brakes, rotors, shocks about a year after I got the car. The 70/100k warranty was really not an issue at that point since I had knocked most of the warranty w/my miles put on. I only use Castrol Synthetic(Red Line 4 times), stay on top of my maintenance, & find a great mechanic.
As for shooting for the 1 mill mark, haven't even thought about it. Maybe that's something to think about just to see if it'll make it, but what good Vetter can turn away from modification or thrist for more power or performance.
Well 87SAM, with my miles, the question would be better put to ask, "What hasn't this Vette seen!". I never got a car & stop to wonder what would happen if I put miles on it. I'm all about rolling my cars hard. Trust me when I say I lost value, but definitely got my money worth out each & any. I've always been blessed in picking worthy cars that could hold up to my driving.
I guess the only questionable exception would be a '91 Fifth Ave I had gotten. Trans would always go out at about 80k & seem to always have a grumble when shifting even when new. Hopefully I'll make it to some of the car shows this year so some can see it in person.
