If you always use Chevron gasoline, you probably don't even need to add extra Techron. I use Texaco which also has Techron and have never had a problem.
You can put Seafoam in your gas tank and engine crankcase, but that's not the use I was referring to.
You put it SLOWLY into the intake tract (bracke booster line or PCV entry behind the throttle body) as your warm engine is running (per instructions on the bottle) and once 2/3 of the bottle is used you shut off the car. Wait 1/2 an hour and start your car..... there will be a LOT of smoke (carbon from your piston tops burning off) and take your car for a good drive.
A couple treatments done within a month will have the combustion chambers free of carbon, good as new.... putting an end to your growing "black soot on the butt of your '01" which you've complained of in the other thread.
LIke I said, I've done this, and I have practicly ZERO soot anymore.

From my understanding,Seafoam can leave zinc deposits on in your fuel system. Fouls plugs and can ruin 02 sensors. I won't touch the stuff anymore
Your understanding is wrong. Seafoam has been around forever and it's a well documented product with much praise from almost everyone who's used it properly.
I don't go by pouring it in the tank... I'm talking about using it to clear the carbon out of your combustion chamber listed in the post above. The best $10 you can spend.
I did the Sea Foam through the brake booster on my '99 FRC and then took it out for a drive and all I can say is WOW! My car went from just barely chirping the tires in 2nd gear to just blowing them off again and they even broke loose at the TOP of third gear! I was VERY impressed with the Sea Foam treatment. So impressed that I now do it to my diesel truck, my Infiniti G35 and the Olds Alero! Awesome stuff!

Later,
I tried many bottles of Techron over a year to free up my fuel gauge sensors and it did nothing two treatments of seafoam brought it back and it has been working fine for over a year.

same here. the fuel gauge thing would occur occasionally while using Techron but after switching to Seafoam it hasn't happened in over a year. might be a coincidence, don't know.

I swear by it.
Guess the $1100 bill after putting some seafoam in the fuel tank was wrong too...
