Either buy or borrow a stock intake and reinstall. Switch it back when done and you're good for 2 years. EZ to swap these in and out. I do every 2 years and use the change out time to service the Halltech. Good luck!
if it's just a different intake, chances are they won't notice. I had to get a smog check done during spring break (I installed a hurricane filter element from WCC). The tech didn't notice and I didn't have any problem passing. you could always check out halltech's website and see if their intake is 50 state legal. Or you could do some quick googling and find a list of CARB exemptions, you can filter by make and model I believe so it shouldn't take too long
When I got mine smog checked they visually noticed it. He was nice and said he will pass me but if my intake isn't stock or doesn't come with a CARB number next time it wont pass. The Halltech says Halltech on it and that's what usually gives it away as an aftermarket part. The only two intakes technically legal in CA as I understand is K&N and the Callaway because they both have CARB numbers. I was tempted to put a K&N sticker on my Halltech but I'd still need a CARB sticker somewhere for it. Luckily I passed anyway.
They are easy to swap out so you can just get a stock intake and put it on for the test.

Why not call Halltech and get the CARB number? It may very well be on their site as well.
Halltech's intake systems are NOT CARB-approved, so a simple swap operation is necessary when smog-check time rolls around.
