I love the vert. I think the Z06 has the best profile, but a vert with the top down is pretty close. I think it depends on if this is your DD or not. Mine is not and I ALWAYS drive with the top down - otherwise I take my other car
For the record mine doesnt' leak and i think you'll find the coupes have more road noise due to the sound bouncing off the glass etc. etc.. well at least the 97's - 00's did
What ground effects are on your car and do the protect the lower body panels from rock chips?
The ground effects are from ACI I don't have any issues with rock chips and I've added 11" rear, and 9.5" in front rims with 305 width tires in the rear, ( a little more meat in the back ) I really think the side skirts and front spoiler complement the factory looks nicely, kind of finishes the C5 look

Have a 99 Vert, pewter, black top. Also have an 84 glass top and the vert is simply more fun. Manual top goes up and down faster than a power top, and the design is such that my wife doesn't even complain about hair blowing. Wear a corvette ball cap and enjoy.
I have a vert and love it. One major con is that I have to spend big bucks on a stereo install cause I can't hear my tunes above 80 mph with the top down..
Stomp'N'Go, LOL ... above 80. Where the heck are you driving?
BTW, we're neighbors. We live in The Shoals. If you see any Magnetic Red coupes or 'verts for sale over your way, give us a holler. We were there yesterday and didn't see anything.

So I have a 99 vert. 1st Vette, 1st Vert.
My power windows don't seat correctly when closing door unless I am inside and drop the windows and put them up again. Otherwise the top back corner of the window lays on the outside edge of vert top. Therefore allowing for wind noise and major leakage. Are these windows supposed to drop a bit and go back up automatically when opening and closing door?
Well first and foremost, if a post/thread is more than 45 days old, start a new post.
I would probably assume the weatherstripping needs to be replaced given it is 12 years old and/or a window adjustment. The windows go up and down like normal windows.
C6 Corvettes drop the window slightly before the door opens and finishes raising it when closed, not C5.
Always thought that top down driving was a crtical part of the sports car experience. Of coarse there were those Z06's running around boasting more horse power. Solved the issue by sending it to Lingenfelter and making it faster than a Z06. Now I have the best of both worlds.
The top is very tight and no wind noise or leaks when it's up. The convertibles just look "kick ***" with the top down. And when the weather is right, they're flat out fun to drive
