I'm starting to get quite embarrassed driving my car being 4 different colors:o. Unfortunately, my body guy(who comes highly recommended) won't be able to get to my car until July 25th. Anyway, I've been using my time trying to finish my interior. I figured I'd post some pics which will cheer me up about the outside not looking so hot right now.
I've installed "Cobalt Red" C6 seats. I had Carskinz redo my center console & boots(and had a good transaction with him). I then bought some SEM Cobalt Red vinyl dye to dye the door panels, glove box, and knee bolster ala Mod Red interior. I've also installed a decent Alpine system, and am starting to do the interior led conversion. I ordered a two-tone steering wheel from Vette Essentials to complete the interior(just haven't received it yet). Here's some pics:
I'm very happy so far I really think the Cobalt Red goes well with the Pewter Metallic. I really think it's gonna be very nice once I can get the paint work done.
Thanks for everyone's time. I hope I can get to a couple local shows before summer is over and meet some of you.
Looks good. I'm planning a similar black/red theme for my interior (MSG exterior) however have a few more mods to work on before I get to the interior.
You mentioned that you dyed your lower door panels, glove box and knee bolster. How difficult was that? I was considering swapping out for actual red components and Z06 red/black doors, however I'm sure the dye would be a LOT less expensive.
Thanks!
Edit - also did you upgrade your stock Bose speakers or did you add the bypass harness for the Alpine head unit?

Thanks for the compliment Actually, the dyeing process was a PITA. I researched it before I started. Other members had dyed the black white first, then went to red. SEM Products said not to do this. Well, going from black to red took many coats. If I did it over again, I would just go from black to white to red. They all came out nice, just wasn't fun to do.
My Alpine system is a complete replacement. I have 2 Alpine amps, and all Alpine Type R speakers(with 2 subs). So the complete Bose system was replaced.

They are surprisingly more comfortable. I like them much better although I don't know why they'd be better. Maybe my old ones were just worn out.
Thanks for all the compliments guys! I couldn't have done all these mods without the help of the people on this forum.
Looking good, It is almost a carbon copy of my Pewter coupe.
Some people help others without knowing it Your car was the reason I decided to go red I just went C6 red to be a little different. BTW, I almost copied your wheels too You have a real nice car there

Well Thanks Erik.
I am honored...
I added a console pad and shift boot and e brake and my son says I need to get rid of some of the red...lol
Hey it is my car and he don't have to drive it...lol
Thanks again.
Bill
this is exactly what I want to do to my center console. Where did you get the bulbs for the HVAC controller?
Thanks for the compliment Actually, I got the hvac unit from jwmotoring.com , Jhonathan is a forum vendor. It was modified with leds, and really looks much better than the pic. I'm now going to get all the switches modded with leds to match.

It was rather easy. I just unbolted the C6 seats from their rails, and bolted them straight onto the C5 rails. You can use the C5 controls, or the C6. I opted for the C6 switches as they matched better(red). You just have to figure out the wiring to splice the C5 wiring to the C6 switch. It was truly the hardest part, but with wiring diagrams I got from the forum it only took about an hour. I'd say you can do the swap within 2 hours or so total. With selling my C5 seats, it turned out to be much cheaper than just buying new skins for my old seats.
