Default Tricks for tall drivers?

Hey guys,

OK, I am loving my newly acquired C5 but being tall (6'8") am looking for any hints, tips or tricks on how to make it more comfortable.

Any thoughts?

Mike

6'8",,,,wow I'm 6'4" 240# and fit comfortable, until I have to put a helmet on at the track and have to "scooch" down to fit

Good Luck and enjoy your new toy!!!!

Just wondering, whats so uncomfortable? I'm 6'5'' and don't even put my seat back all the way. If I had a telescoping wheel I'd be in heaven.

Anyway I'd lower the seat all the way and let the air out of the bolsters to start. Then lean back and enjoy.

What he said above. That's what I do and I have no problems driving mine. I am also 6'8".Just put the seat all the way down and lean back a bit with the seat back all the way back if you have the electric seats.
Also. What C5 you have (coupe,FRC,convertible) Makes a difference there too. Coupe with transparent top gives you the most room.
Enjoy.

No tips other than the above, but hope you enjoy your newly purchased C5.

Two guys with the same over all hieght might have different issues. Im only six feet but the way Im built Im like 6' 4" from the waist up and 5 ' 10" from the waist down (not all parts included ).

But at any rate, didnt notice if you had a coupe? If so, the lexan roof makes a big difference, and you can also modify the seat tracks (they do it for all the NBA stars that buy supercars). You loose the electrics but gain an inch or two.

Thanks for the input guys. Fortunately it is a convertible so headroom is not really an issue. Mine is more of my legs and feet (size 16 shoe). My knees seem to be tight against the console and door.

BUT....that will not even begin to deter me from driving it! What an awesome car. My wife jokes at how I have to squeeze into it and says I would never do that to fit into anyone else's car like their Toyota Camry.... Please.....

I am 6ft 7in and the lexan roof helped immensely! I wear a size 14 and at the risk of getting flamed by some of the guys...I bought a pair of "driving shoes" (Puma) and they help out a TON!! No, I do not wear them to go to the grocery store or short trips, but for long trips they are worth their weight in gold!

I'm 6'4" tall and 210 lbs. My '99 coupe is snug but comfortable. But as everyone has mentioned, I have my seat all the way back, all the way down, the side bolsters all the way out and the telescopic steering wheel all the way out. It's a coupe with the clear top so that helps. Getting in and out, depending on my gimpy back, can be interesting.

I'm 6'3" 220 and have the same problem with my shoes (size 14) trying to get into the car mostly when I have on my steel toe shoes.
If you don't have a window valet get one...you will love it. It's much easier getting in with the window down.
If you put the top is down you can just step into the car and slide down the seat!
Note: It is Very important to make sure you have nothing in your back pockets (screwdriver, pencil, pen) that can dig into or rip your seat.

Good luck and enjoy!

I'm 6'3" and the only thing I REALLY want is a telescoping wheel.
