Default DIY help

There was a thread a while back on a diy for smoothing & painting the FRC's. Can anyone point me to this? I know that a search will find a LOT of threads for just painting, but what I'm looking for is the one that includes creating a smooth (removing the 5.7L and raised bars)

thanx for any help

Just grind them down with low grit sand paper if you have the time. Then progressively go higher and higher grit until they are pretty smooth. The primer will fill in the scratches from the sanding anyway. And make sure you use an adhesion promoter for plastic before spraying the primer.

I have a set that was done by sanding it smooth, The trouble I ran into is after you smooth them down there is no support what so ever to the cover, What you have to do to the back side is lay down some fiberglass on it for support, If you don't after a few times taking them off you will have cracks in the paint...
Ask me how I know....lol
