Default Cruise Control Question

A little over a year ago the cruise control on my 2004 quit working. The dealer repaired it and said they replaced the brake switch. I noticed that it was much more sensitive after the repair. The slightest touch of the brake pedal would release cruise. Now it's gotten so sensitive that a small bump in the road will make it release. Question is: Is this an easy adjustment I can make or should I take it back to the dealer? Also, I wonder if every bump in the road is making my brake lights flash? Wouldn't that be aggravating for the person behind? Thanks for any advice.

it seems very possible if the brake switch is set too sensitive it is indeed tripping the brake light for a split second and that of course is just one of the many "trips" built into the cruise system. i really don't know about the current switches, but in the c3 and older (maybe even the c4 but i'm not certain and most other american cars) it was adjusted by screwing it up or down to bring it closer or farther away from the pedal arm. that was how the sensitivity was set. couldn't hurt to take a peek and see if that is how the current switches are triggered.
