Hate to say it here but when I'm driving my older Vettes I get the fewest waves from C5's. Obviously if you are on this sight you are an enthusiast and prone to wave. When I'm driving an older Vette less than 40% of the C5 or C6 Vettes even recognize an old Vette.
I get way more waves when driving the C5 compared to the C3. In the C3 it seems like the C5 - C6 people never wave. In the C5 it seems like its just the C6 people that don't wave.
This is just Corvette waves though, the C3 pulls more general smiles and waves than the C5.
I always wave to Vettes, but rarely do the drivers wave back. More and more I see what looks like the average soccer mom driving a Vette. If asked, I'm sure she couldn't tell me how many cylinders in the engine or if the car is rear or front wheel drive Where is this world coming to...
It just depends on the person driving, some are not even aware of the 'wave.'
Some times you'll get a response sometimes not. Sometimes drivers are busy and may see you but cannot respond before its too late and you are passed.
Grease your backs and let it slide off.
I try to wave when I can, but there are definitely times I miss one!
The best one so far was actually my first wave, and from a C6.. there was an "older" couple (60's?) stopped in the right lane at a light, and I went past them in the right turn lane with my arm out the window in a little wave, and when I looked in my side mirror the wife was waving like a crazy person with a huge smile on her face. Needless to say, I had a grin on my face for the next 10 minutes
Even though it wasn't a 'vette, the other day I had a GTO wave at me. I was really tired and sad about some stuff and even though I saw it happening, I just couldn't react..it was werid. I felt bad afterwords, lol. . So I guess even if people don't wave back, they might not always see you or do it on purpose.
C3 owners do not think that C5 owners are really true Corvette enthuseasts..they see C5 owners as just a bunch of rich yuppies running around in Corvettes just because it is the "IN " thing to do or worse they think that many C5 & C6 owners just lease their cars and join clubs just to show them off. ( I would never wave at any C6 owner..I agree with the C3 owners when it comes to the C6 Vettes and many C5 people as well )

Dude, WTF? Don't generalize all of us C3 owners, please. I happen to have both a C3 and C5, and know plenty of C5 owners that are freaking Corvette fanatics. I do get the least waves from C6 owners, but I wave at them just the same.
