Default Frustrated w/tr!

So it starts out, I'm going to mod my car... So what do I need? Where do I go to get parts? Of course, Thunder Racing, who has a great reputation for supposedly serving their customers.

Well folks, I'm hear today to let everyone know that I am extremely disappointed with Thunder Racing, and I wanted to make it public.

Right now in this down economy people are not willing to spend much money, but guess what folks, I am. I am willing to help companies by ordering things I enjoy in order to help this economy get rolling. So again, through good friends and the board Thunder Racing is my first choice.

So let me start off, I wont go into detail about parts, but I ordered around 1300 dollars worth of stuff from TR. I was told, cam would be in on last wednesday at their shop and should ship out Thursday and should receive Friday or the start of the next week, Monday. Friday night, I come home. Ya! Parts from LG Motor sports are here, heck yeah LG. Saturday, parts from Hensen and Thunder Racing are here! Heck yeah go team! All I need is the cam and comp springs... Monday passes and now its Tuesday and no show on the cam or springs... Ok, I will call Thunder Racing, these guys are great.. Cam, is suppose to be in there shop today and ship to me tonight... See it Wednesday or Thursday of this week... Call me tomorrow just to confirm... So today, I call to confirm, guess what nothing, notta, zilch... NO CAM!

One, I was promised a date and shipping confrimation. With this I created a time line for my project.... ERRRRNT shouldn't have done that!

Two, my car is tore apart and I was suppose to be hitting the dyno Friday, Saturday to a car show for charity. Doesn't look llike it now!

Three, Thunder Racings comment, sorry "Mr. XXX" I'm not sure when your cam is going to ship...

Four, I guess in these economic times 1300 dollars does mean anything to Thunder Racing.

Five, one pissed off C5 vet owner!!!

Thats sucks, Have you tried Summit Racing? They have overnight shipping if needed....

What does TR have to do with the UPS? Unless they lied to you about it being in stock or its status in being shipped out, I don't understand what the big deal is. Sounds like you're just anxious to get the parts installed--which by the way I can completely understand--but don't you have a tracking number on your items??? I don't buy parts unless they can be tracked--there's no bsing you about when they shipped it.

He can't have a tracking on an item that hasn't shipped, TR told him that they don't know when it will ship.
Read #3 in his post.

Ah. Yeah that's bogus then. I totally understand the frustration. Cancel the order and get it overnighted from elsewhere and let them know that you've posted up your gripe online for all to see.

They're obligated to at least tell you a certain item isn't in stock. And if it is but they haven't gotten around to getting it shipped out for you then they're obviously so inundated with business that they don't need yours...

Welp... Now I've got an e-mail telling me it is now going to be ground down/cat at comp then they should have it by the end of the week...

This is no good to me considering they told me it would ship last week and receive early this week.

UGH!

Oh and yes, anxious, frustrated, all of the above etc..

First thing I would do is stop payment through the CC company, Next I would order from someone else and tell them what you just went through. You should be able to find a cam in stock unless you are looking for a custom grind..... You can order today and have it tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that, I had good luck with them with two separate purchases (custom cam, Racetronix kit), but those purchases were both a few years ago.

Seems like TR got hosed by the cam company,their communication is just shoddy.At the least they should offer you your money back so you can shop elsewhere!

....BUT still sucks...they probly should have used better wording of the situation instead

find the cam in stock somewhere, and make sure! since this is what they told you to begin with...then cancel the order and buy from somewhere else

Read my thread again line #3... I do have all the information, and they even made the comment about when it would be here before I ever agreed to the whole purchase..

Looks like though, I'm screwed... The closest thing I can get to the cam I ordered from TR is 224/228 .560/.560.... No quite sure if I can get away with that with Comp 918 springs and 7.4 pushrods..
