Default turn signal problem

I went to change lanes tonight and my turn signal indicator did not work. I tried both ways a couple of times and nothing happened. I did not pull the car over and check if the exterior signal lights were working. this has happened one other time and I actually don't remember what I did to get the indicators to work last time. tonight, I just turned the car off and back on while rolling to a light. situation was solved but obviously there is a problem to be solved here.

Research here tells me it is the hazzard switch. it looks like I have 3 options to fix this problem.
1 replace the switch
http://www.kd5fx.com/HSwitch/HSwitch.htm
2 DIY fix from the tech section
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1569256474-post64.html
3 CE hyper flash fix
http://www.corvette-enhancements.com/c5_flasher_fix.php

what should I do?? My preference is to replace the faulty gm part and move on. let me know what you think.

Definitely install Richards bi-pass cable. I installed one 2 years ago and it's one of the best mods I've done to my 2000 vert. It costs about $60 and takes 15-20 minutes and you'll never have turn signal issues again. Replacing the hazard switch is just asking to do it again when the second one fails. I have no financial or business relationship with Corvette-enhancements, I'm simply a very satisfied customer that believes in passing along mods that make our cars better!

I went with the bypass because I also have led taillights which the bypass fixes those issues too. It took 10 mins for me to install and much easier than digging out / replacing the stock. I only installed it a month ago but no more turn signal issues.

I'm doing choice #2 or #3. I'm all for the better mouse trap. Big pain in the rear to R&R the switch only to still have a poorly engineered switch.

Get the bypass, easier to install and you'll also need i if/when you get some LEDs. Since I installed them, my turn signal issues went bye bye!

QUESTION: Does this bypass kit just remove the turn signal operation from going through the Hazard 4 way flashers, but leave the Hazard 4 way flashers functional if you need it, or does it just eliminate the Hazard altogether leaving you with ONLY more reliable turn signals????
Thanks, Jennifer

I'm not trying to hi-jack this thread...but I too am having this problem, but only on the right side. My lights still works on the outside...just doesn't flash on the inside. Is this a problem the bypass will fix or do I have a different problem. I'm looking at getting some switchbacks and will need the bypass anyway.
