I bought a Polluter cam 2 weeks ago and got to thinking that this is way to bog of a cam for my taste. I drive around Tampa alot in the stop and go traffic. Plus, there was too much else I would have to do to make that cam effective in my Z06. So I am sending the whole kit back to tick if they will let me and get a custom ground cam from COMP. I was thinking 228/232 with 580ish lift on a 112lsa. I love the loudness of a cam and the rumble so I am not concerned there. My question is, do you think I should get a set of Patriot 2.5 LS6 heads with that cam. I am a little worried about my clutch with the addition of heads with that cam. I don't want to have to mess with the fuel system either if I dont have to. What do you guys think. This car is driven about 150 miles a week. I want street manners but I also want good power without having to worry about a breaking point somewhere.
where in tampa are you? No you don't need heads but you might need injectors. 42's will work fine. The kit comes compleate with dual valve springs. ti retainers, and pushrods right? who is doing the install? make sure you have a great tuner. and how many miles on the clutch? It might give way to the new found power. should be 420 ish my guess. Thanks mike
I went with a 228/232 cam, (.600/.600 and 112+5) and though it performs very well, If I had a do-over, I'd get one with less overlap. (+6 or 8) My car stinks pretty badly, even with cats. I don't know if this' hard on the HF cats, but I really don't need the last bit of top end HP that grind gives me, and I'd trade it for a less aggressive grind.

I'm in Afghanistan right now but I will be back in mid October. Jeremy Formato has always done the tuning for my vehicles, so no concern with a tuner there. My buddy John Railey over at PCSC in Clearwater will be doin the work. I live on 4th street in St. Pete. I used to have the Gold Turbo Trans Am runnin around there if you've seen it.

sorry...but 42's will make the car a pig at low end...too much injectors
is as bad as too much cam...
want proof - with a cam and the heads listed you will fall way short of ECS's head cam package...look what they use for injectors in a package that has made over 500rwhp

2 GM belts
New GM crank bolt
Manley Double roller timing chain
GM front mail seal
GM water pump gaskets
Chromoly pushrods
30 pound injectors
Harland Sharp roller rockers

i am making 530+ rwhp from a 383 and use FAST 36 lbs...
