I don't think I have the sensors on my wheels because they were changed out long time ago,, should I get new sensors or can you turn off the system, I have to clear it out every time I start my car?

Im sure there is a way you can by pass it. It would be a pain though : /, I just put new rims and tires on my car and i had the Pressure sensor error, took the magnet to it, get into the tire pressure relearn system in your computer then just follow the instructions!

I used a pair of ceramic magnets I bought at A.C. Moore craft store. The magnets are about diameter of a quarter, about 3/16" thick. Think I paid about $3.49. They worked fine. I placed the magnets just inboard of the tire stem against the rim.

I would try and do the training procedure to confirm you do not have them, maybe they were just never trained?

If you confirm you dont have them, to get the system turned off , I believe you would need the GM Tech Tool which only a dealership would have, or you could check a reputable repair shop they might be able to do it for you.

IIRC you can only disable them on the 2001+ vettes. I was told it couldn't be done on mine (99) without changing to the 2001+ controller and a tech tool. OOPS. Just saw you have a 2001. It is possible to get them disabled.

I actually have one of the magnets that GM technicians use, but any reasonably strong magnet should do - and you only need one.

What does it look like Jack? I'm thinking maybe a magnet about 3" square would work.
