I just bought a 2001 Z06 with 2,200 miles. I ordered SP500 wheels and tires today from John. I want to replace the shifter. Is there a shifter that's regarded as "most people's favorite?"

I've had my MGW shifter in the car for about a year and 22,000 miles now and love it. That said, they came out with a redesign and upped the price about $100. I've driven both the Hurst and B&M and for the money I think I'd go with one of them if I was buying now.
Try to drive as many cars with different shifters as you can. What some like you may not. Some may be to firm to shift, some may vibrate and allow noise into the cabin. Some are designed to allow a spring change to soften or firm shift changes. Some allow any 9/16-18" **** to be used, while others allow both C5 and C6 *****.
Some owners go through shifters as often as they change their shorts. The "most popular" or "best" changes regularly. Watch the classified forum for deals.
HURST, KIRBAN, MTI, C6/Z06, MGW, B&M (two versions), CALLAWAY, PRO 5.0, BREATHLESS PERFORMANCE are a few to research...

So are you saying the Hurst and B&M have the same ~feel/perfromance as compared to the MGW? I have the Hurst and considering the MGW, but if the improvement is negligible I may pass.
