mine too are from OE - the customer service was good and the wheels trouble free. I'd buy them from Jhonathon W now though, since he is a supporting vendor.

Just speaking from my experience. Trying to help the OP out. I felt sick to my stomach when I felt how sluggish my car felt after adding ~10lbs per wheel. Spending all that $$ to make my car slower...

Ask openly on the C5 general section if adding rotating mass will reduce your cars performance

I'm not trying to an azz... I'm just saying that basic laws of physics tells you that this is true. I felt a big change in my car. I guess I'm surprised that you have not.

Tire Rack sums it up:

I pulled these comments from the above link. I noticed reduced steering response, and for sure overall acceleration.

By reducing unsprung weight, alloy wheels provide more precise steering input and improved "turning in" characteristics.
By reducing the weight of the vehicle's rotational mass, alloy wheels provide more responsive acceleration and braking.

I purchased some C6 Z06 copies warapped in some nice BFG rubber and spent less that $900.00 (and they are C5 sizes). They were not chrome, but if I want a chrome set I will put my C5 5 spokes back on.

I didn't notice any difference in driving or handling, My wheels weighed 25 lbs each, Not sure what the stock weighed, I am sure if you are racing against a clock you might notice a difference, But then again I don't recall the OP saying he was racing his car. Another thing if I was going to race my car I would get wheels that are made for it.
Go for it, They are a great wheel for the money on DD.

Nope not racing the car (much..... lol) I just wanted to get rid of my Wagon wheels being that I'll be adding B&B Bullets and I decided I may as well change up the wheels while I was at it. It was just seeing them on Ebay I wasn't sure what the deal was with them. At 25lbs isn't that about the same as stock?

More pics....lol

Good points. The average person probably wouldn't notice a difference at all. Only the die-hard racers would. I noticed a slight difference in going from lower profile tires to bigger ones (and 18's all around). I think I lost about a tenth or so if I were to race it with them on. But I can make up for that elsewhere I suppose. Here are mine.

I don't race my car either. My Z06 is just a weekend cruiser. I hope you don't think I'm trying to start an argument or anything like that... I was just stating to KeyoRacing what I felt when I tried heavier wheels. When I put my stock Z06 wheels back on it felt like I added a cold air intake or gained 20+ HP . I just hated the way my car felt when I put on those wheels and I just thought I would let him learn from my mistake. I hope he does not notice a difference if he gets them.

Sweet Ride !

I am no means a die hard racer. I could not race my way out of a paper bag... I drive like grandma mostly. But I sure felt the difference with the weight. I am however "very" in tune with the way my car drives. Probably to a fault since I have been getting LG's to dial in my tune lately for REAL small stuff.... Its smooth as a baby's azz now though !

Just put some deep dish c6z's on my z16 a few days ago. Great wheels and good customer service. I had a blemish on one wheel, and they had no problem taking care of the situation. I had to call them a few times, but they were always helpful and polite.

I do have a nearly new (20 miles old) set of General UHP's in 295/35-18 if you should find a need for them to be on your new wheels.

But, back to the wheels, I'd show you pics but I can't seem to post them. (otherwise I would, cause I'd love some opinions)

Good Luck!

I whole heartedly agree with your posts and your sensitivity to the way your car feels to you. I feel the same way. I know when even the slightest thing is wrong or different with my car. Heavy, unevenly balanced casted wheels definately feel different to me.

I had a great experience with them and they liked my car enough to put it on there website so I can't say enough good things about them. Call and ask for Lance. BTW I did 18's Front and rear.

My new wheels weighed exactly 3 lbs a piece over my factory MAGNESIUMS! Now 12 lbs total would be hard to feel in any car let alone one with some power.I even went from 17 and 18 to 18 and 19 inch wheels.Did you also change size/brand of tires perhaps?

BTW your tire rack comparison was STEEL wheels vs alloy wheels.OE wheels are alloys.

Here is my set:

I ordered directly from OE Wheels. Wheels were received in less than a week and in nice packaging I might add. Got the order right the first time with correct offsets, sizes and color. Also very easy people to deal with. I required NO wheel weights at all. Wheels mounted just fine along with the tires I put on. Very happy with my purchase from them.

Hey, did anyone notice where these wheels are made? I'll give you a hint.... no longer in the USA. Still look good though... there are some real nice looking cars in this thread with the OE's.
