Reminds me of a kindergarden kid who had too much sugar in his recess snack Punctuation would be nice...
And yes, trade in your car (is it a Ferrari?) for a Vette...

If I were you I'd just hold on to the Stang. Its a good car and you could be driving alot worse. $350./mo is a fairly normal car payment in this day and age. Dont just let the car go back to the bank or be reposessed. It takes far too long to straighten out your credit than it does to screw it up. Be patient and pay on the car for a couple of years, save up for a nice down payment and trade it in on a nice C5 or maybe even a C6 by then.

if you have a loan out, you cannot just return the car, you have to repay the loan. if that does not work for you, you need to talk to the bank that owns the loan. if you just stop making payments and "return" the car, there is a good chance your (and you dad's) credit will take a hit.

Yes, you cant just return a vehicle to the place you bought it. If you do that, the dealer will just call the financial institution who holds the note and tell them to come and get it. Your Dads credit as well as yours will be damaged. Avoid a potentialy bad situation between you and your Dad as well as ruining your forseeable financial health.

If the car is putting a strain on your finances, then perhaps you should sell it and pay off the loan. Then buy a less costly vehicle and save your money until you can either pay cash for a Vette or at least get one with a much lower monthly payment than you are paying now.

you should do the responsible thing and either trade it in or sell it outright.....don't just "return" it as you say. This will help establish your credit and protect your co-signer...remember that person who trusted you and stuck their neck out for you!

If I were you, I'd sell the car and use the money to get an education. Learning how to write a complete sentence with periods and capital letters will do wonders for making a living (and affording a nice car) in the future!

I doubt that will work. He's almost certainly upside-down on the car.

The dad will be held responsible it was his credit the loan was made against. When he cosigned he was making the loan and you were put on to help build your credit. I have 3 sons and have signed on with all of them at one time or another. From a dads point ,if you let it go back for the reasons you gave I would beat the crap out of you daily until I got my money back.

BAHAHAHAHA man i feel sorry for the dad... by now it looks like you are stuck with the mustang. Pay it off over time, dont go out and waste money on a bunch of crap you dont need, and buy what you want later.
