Bottom line: much quieter, better grip (summer only) and a smoother ride. Also, you totally move away from the bump-steer when hitting a bump while turning.

I made my decision based on the reviews and test results provded by Tire Rack.

Good Luck

I just put my first 100 miles on them and the difference is, well how do you say quiet

Bought the Michelins Pilots "ZP" run flats. I like the ride, they are quiet, and you can't beat the 45,000 mile warranty on them. Got them from NTB after they matched Tire Rack price. Check out the Tire rack price.

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ZP (Max Performance Summer) are the new runflat tires used on the new supercharged ZR1 Corvette. They are available in regular C5 sizes at $345 each and $246 each for back and front tires at Tire Rack.

I have stayed with the OEM Goodyear runflats (on my third set at 122,000 miles). I get great life out of them (55,000 miles on fronts and 45,000 miles on rears). They also give you 3 mpg better mileage than regular non-runflat radial tires and 2 mpg more than other runflat tires. They are also rated for 50 miles running flat and can be repaired and 200 miles running flat (but can not be re-used). Believe it or not, the OEMs handle better than Goodyear GS-D3s (according to Corvette Enthusiast Magazine). They do ride rougher and do not accelerate (hook up) as well though.

I got my rims wrapped in the Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Pole Position tires, and I am very pleased. Much nicer and quieter ride than the runflats IMO.

I'm sure others will comment on how they feel about Michelin Pilot Sport AS ZP tires.

Default Pricey Tire's

Hi

It seems that Goodyear has stiff competition out there! But the price's out there for a set of 4 tires (runflat's) can set one back for at least $1200 mounted.

Thanks

Alan

I have 40K on my original runflats and there is still a good amount of life left in them.

Have only had for 3 months and put about 3k miles on them. They are quiet and handle very well in wet or dry conditions. I am very pleased.
I'll tell you in a few years about the wear.
