Default Rocking Seat

While waiting patiently for my wheels to come in, I decided to give the rocking seat issue a try. I bought the kit from TKO Performance. I must say though, if any of you are intimidated by tearing your seat tracks apart, don't be. I was and now that I have done it, it's really not that hard. Took me about an hour and a half to do both seats. Just follow the instructions from here: Rocking Seat Fix.
No more rocking seats for a while now. I have had this issue since I bought the car back in '07. Wish I would have done it sooner now. There was absolutely no shims what so ever left in the drivers side and very little left in the passenger side.

Waiting for wheels from JW. If case you are wondering, I sold my other wheels and the ones I wanted from JW are on back order til the end of the month.

This is all that came out of all 4 tracks. Not much there.

1 done, 3 more to go.

Ready to go back into the car. That's for tomorrow morning though when it's not so hot in the garage.

Gotta get this done. My pass seat is getting really bad.

Thanks for the post. Looks like an easy fix.

The link uses nylon washers from ACE or similar. What did the TKO kit give you??

Not real sure what they are made of but they look and feel like thick teflon. Some kind of a hard plastic. Hope they last a while.

My seat was "sliding" and I did a similar fix. not it is rocking. Like a rocking chair. Will this fix work for that?

The rocking is a different issue I believe. I have not had that one so I can't say for sure. But they do call this the "Rocking Seat" so it might be one and the same. My seats were going forward and backward on braking. I could actually sit in the seat and make it move back and forth without the car even moving. Maybe someone that has had the "rocking" problem, if it is another issue, can clarify this. It sounds like you might have a track problem more then a jackscrew problem.

Hopefully only a couple more weeks. Don't have any backup wheels around. I sold my old wheels and actually placed my order for the new ones before the sale. JW informed me that they were on backorder a couple days after someone bought the others. The person that bought my other ones did offer to wait a while to get them but I didn't think it would be an issue. Hope I was right.

No they are not the same problem. When I changed my lower seat foam, I did the nylon washer fix on the seat leadscrews. The rocking is still there when accel/braking. It is not a sliding motion but a rocking motion. I think it is wear in the bushings. Anyone found a good fix yet ?
