Guys where are you finding financing for late model C5's 97-2002?
I can't find a bank or credit union that will go back past 2002. Credit rating is not the issue as I have Excellent credit. they just simply are turning it away.
Check out past threads. We just had this discussion a couple of days ago. I just bought a 97 with 34000 miles on it the last Saturday in May. I financed 10 G at 4.9% with my credit union, which I've been a member for 30 years. I had no problems at all but it appears that many people are having a difficult time. Good luck.
A personal loan from a credit union or a credit card low rate cash advance.
I used my Citi Card for 4.75 % until paid in full when I bought the vette (and paid off another car at the same time to consolidate). It's a huge plus to have the title in hand for a quick sale if needed.
yeas but we just refinanced and with the apraisal and obvious decrease in home values, I am only at 85% loan to value, so it makes it just as hard to do an equity loan.
Just make sure to read the fine print if you're thinking of using a convenience check. We used one about 2 years ago and the rate was 3.99 for the life of the balance. We will have it paid off in about 3 months. Make sure it's for the LIFE of the balance you write the check for!!
We just got a 16k loan for our 2000 'vert at the TVA (Tennesse Valley Authority) Credit Union here in 'bama. You didn't mention what state you're in. Post that info and maybe someone can be of more help to you. Good luck!
Mrs. joeb1kinobe (yeah, I get to keep the newer 'vette and DH gets the '93. Sounds fair to me!)
thats odd. im having no trouble securing financing for a 00-02 vette from a few banks. i have better credit, still a touch under 700 beacon but, like i mentioned, have no problem with financing. now finding the vette i want to finance is another story. no look after 6 months.
Try Patelco. I have a loan thru them. They are in California, and I am in Virginia. My credit score was crappy, but was still financed. It's worth a shot.

I recently checked with my credit union and they will go back a long way on a classic car like a Corvette. The interest rate is about 1% higher than for a newer (06 and up) car, but the do offer 60 month financing.
