Prayers, Please... for Mrs. chips*dad
Please know there are additional prayers for both of you from the Webster house. Never quit fighting and praying. It's amazing what you can do with "fight and prayer." We are all in your corner, my friend.

David, six years ago, my wonderful wife Rita was diagnosed with breast cancer at the 3+ stage. She had a tumor the size of my thumb in her breast and it had gotten into her lymph glands.
She was dead. I knew it. There was no way they could cure a case this advanced. I was completely convinced that I'd be a widower within a year.
Here we are six years later and she doesn't have a trace of cancer. They got it all. Miracles do happen and modern science finds new treatments every day. Don't give up hope.
And yes, you can be sure that our prayers are with you and Linda.

Prayers will be said for the both of you.

Thank you all so very much for your prayers and kind wishes. Today was the first postive day after a week of real doubt and concern. Bronchoscopy revealed no additional virus beyond the pneumonia and they extracted a litre of fluid from between her lung and chest wall, which didn't show any infection. They feel like they're finally getting to the pneumonia with the antibiotics and have begun to wean her from the sedative, provide some nourishment through a tube and let her take over some of the breathing work from the ventilator, while obviously still leaving her intubated for assistance as needed.
We've gone from believing we might lose her last Tuesday to having cautious optimism that we may perhaps begin to wean her off the vent on Monday, if all continues to trend postively. She already beat the odds back with her initial diagnosis what seems like a lifetime ago, when we were told she had 2 years to live. She's a fighter and and a fighter benefitting from the prayers of so many kind people, like those here on CF.
I will always be grateful for your support and will update you as possible.
Sincerely,
Dave & Linda Ann

I just said a prayer for your wife. I hope everything goes well for the both of you. My wife is an RN and I hear so many sad stories, but I also hear about people who she thought would never make it, but ended up chugging along like nothing ever happened. Glad to hear that she had a better day today.
