If you've been following along, you know my wife's been on the transplant list for lungs for about 5 years now. Last Friday she developed pneumonia and was hospitalized in the ICU. At about 6:30 last Sunday, her O2 sat level couldn't be brought higher than 80 (we should be at about 99, she's usually at 96 with supplumental O2), and the decision was made to put her on a ventilator.
She's battled interstital lung disease, scleroderma and pulmonary hypertension for the last 7 years and is what I live for, the love of my life and my hero.
If you believe in the power of prayer - hell, even if you DON'T, she believes in it enough for ALL of us - please say a prayer for her today.
Linda and Me at the Vettes for Vets last fall...
Thank you.

David, six years ago, my wonderful wife Rita was diagnosed with breast cancer at the 3+ stage. She had a tumor the size of my thumb in her breast and it had gotten into her lymph glands.
She was dead. I knew it. There was no way they could cure a case this advanced. I was completely convinced that I'd be a widower within a year.
Here we are six years later and she doesn't have a trace of cancer. They got it all. Miracles do happen and modern science finds new treatments every day. Don't give up hope.
And yes, you can be sure that our prayers are with you and Linda.

Stories like this make it easier for the wife and I to go to work everyday; we are both in medical research. The Spano Family is praying you will post a story like this, never give up hope :bluean gel:
