Default C5 on vacation

Well after a less than a positive start to C5 ownership in january (column lock out, horn membrane) we got her tuned and new tires(Sumi 3's) and took off on a 2100 mile vacation from south florida to Savannah, Charleston, Charlotte, Ashville and the on to Blue Ridge Ga for five days in a mountain cabin. She performed wonderfully the whole trip. One tank I got a fuel mileage average of 33.7 running mostly 60 and 65. Can't count how many people commented how sweet the car was. Since this is my first vette it made me smile. Only issue I had was at the cabins I had to take all the male members at our family reunion for a few hot laps and going up and down the steep inclines allowed some of the coolant in the overflow container to escape and ended up getting a low coolant warning. Added water and on our way. It has brought great joy to me and now I can cross one more item off the bucket list

Drove the C5 from northcentral Pennsylvania down to Miami a couple of times. A great car for the long haul. It was comfortable and good on gas.

Sounds like a really fun time - and can't beat the gas mileage.

WTG!

Did a 10 day from Md to FL to N.O., Memphis & back in a 76. Hit most of those places. No colum lock issues. Anticipated battery issue & brought a spare one. Sure enough in Alabama it went. Gave me x-tra storage room for more stuff to buy

Glad you had a great time, I think I recall a post by you how depressed you were with the car at first.
Glad you are enjoying it now.
