Hi There:
To those of you who have used the red wire set p/n12495519.Does the wire end that connects to the ignition coil have a white ceramic insulator like the factory black ones do?
Thank you

Neither my stock '99 wires or the red GM performance wires had ceramic. The plug end had a metal shield and the other end had a rubber boot as I remember. Use dialectric grease on the plug end to make it easier to get off later.
Hi There:
I think you guys miss- read this thread.I appreciate all your replys. If you pull the wire off the coil & look in the end of the wire, you will see the metal round contact. Is there a white insulator below that on the gmpp red wires?
Sorry if I was not clear in the earlier post.
Thanks

Hi There;
Thanks Dee Gee and rws.1 for the info. I was looking for. Thats how gm saved money on the red wires($60.71) by not including that insulator to divert heat away from the coil pack.The black factory wires have this insulator, but they cost $127(my cost) list for $181

Sounds almost like you have a broken plug. No ceramic in any plug wire I've ever seen. Is it in every plug boot?
As the OP states, the stock wires from my '98 have the ceramic in the coil end (not the sparkplug end) of the wire. It encircles the metal connector. I changed to the red wires awhile back and still have the stock wires in my treasure chest of used parts.
