When I did my research two years ago the average price was around $6-1200 labor and my set was $2100.00. You can do them yourself if you are mechanically inclined. It just takes time and patience. I was lucky to have some help from Gary Ballard and Mike. It is easier with more hands for sure. Just make sure you select a good shop to do it as it can be screwed up very easily. Good Luck

We went with the LSD Door Kit, lifetime warranty... wife did the electrical and I did the LSD kit hinges. took us three days but saved a $1,000.00 to have them installed by someone else...

Does anyone have a video or a link to a video showing them opening and closing?

Thank you,
I don't have any video or nothing. But the door opens like regular outward about two feet and then you can lift upwards, door will not go upwards until it has opened two feet outward..
Hope you can understand what I'm trying to say.. Maybe someone can come in on your thread and has a video clip for LSD Doors.
We bought them for the magic stick. opens and closes without scratching up the door sill and strikers...The magic stick eliminates damage from opening and closing the doors...

I have the GT Factory kit on my car. I really like this kit. I have had zero issues with fitment and the doors not closing or opening correctly. With this kit and I am sure the others, there is some trimming involved of the inner fender and if you have BSM's on your car you will need to either move them slightly forward like i did or cut them. We did not have to extend the factory wires either as there was plenty of length to work with the door kit.

I also have these kits available on my website for 1799.99 which is 200.00 less than GT Factory sells them for on thier website GT Factory also offers a liftime warranty on the kits as well.

Here is some pics of the kit not installed.

One thing I like about this kit and I am not sure if others do this is i can open the doors far enough to get in and out of the car without opening them up

some pics with the doors up

a little higher up

My kit came from vertical doors inc and I am very happy with it. I do wish the door went up a bit higher but this is a quality kit. I did the install myself with a friend and it took one evening. Make sure you buy a well made kit, there are some sellers that price them at $300 $500 but the bearing could fail and the door strut is week and will let the door slam down. Pros are (in my state) they are still rare and bring lots of attention at shows, be prepared to answer questions while getting gas, groceries etc. Cons many vette owners dont like this mod and feel the need to tell you how dumb it was to spend money on this door hinge, and its hard to go anywhere without being asked how they work etc. IMO it rates up there with the flared fenders as a great mod and I never regret putting them on + they are reversable so no worries.

Stay undecided. Lambos on anything except a Lambo are lame.

btw. It's harder to open aftermarket lambos on a vette then the stock set up.

O yeah IMHO

You obviously don't like the lambo doors and that is fine. But don't give misleading information. The lambo doors ARE NOT harder to open then the stock setup. I don't know who told you that, but absolutely false. The lambo doors are 2 stage setup. 1. You can open it just like stock. Straight out...no difference at all. (Just like C5 bearsfan stated) OR
2. You can open out a bit and upward...lambo style. This way does require you to get use to the new way of opening the door but it not any harder. Watch a few episodes of Bullrun where they were in a mad hurry and they are not any more difficult. Different yes....difficult...no.

This is not my honest opinion...just fact from other people that do own the hinges.
