Need help fast please !!!
I have a 97 A4... I was coming home and when i got into my community i dropped down into 1st gear. At first i didnt notice anything strange until the rpm's wernt going up and i wasnt going anywhere. I got out and pushed to my house. The gear shifter is just moving freely from park to 1st on the way back it locks at Reverse but i still dont get ANY gears. please help im stuck.

I don't know which side of the trans its on as I no longer have my C-5 but the linkage for the shifter is inside under the center console area. It only takes about 10 minutes to access. Its easier to first look under the car though and see if the linkage to the trans is still connected at the trans.
