I appreciate that, since I have never owned one before I will probably have a lot of questions. Its really nice to have a place to throw it out there and have so many people to have answers that have been in the same spot.

If you are still running runflats, that could be a lot of the noise - switching to non-runflats should help. And there are a few insulation products out there that go under the carpeting - that seems to cut down on some of the noise too.

Since you don't have the run flat tire, that's good. For road noise try to get better insulation, frost king or something like that. Also, the rubber door seals are really bad on these cars. Mine had very very low miles and still made noise. Now, I have 36K miles, and its sill more noisy than my BMW that has 115K miles on it (which is very quiet). Go figure.. But the Vette is my pride!

I have 2004 Coupe and had horrible road noise. Non-runflats helped, but it was still noisy.

So I bought a bunch of Dynamat Extreme and took out the rear carpet. I tapped with my fingers and everywhere it resonated, I put on a layer of Dynamat. I ended up covering almost the entire floor, rear and sidewalls of the rear cabin area. I used 2 layers of Dynamat in the cargo bins. Additionally, I installed a 'stealth' subwoofer as shown in the pic below. The mass of the sub box really soaks up (and blocks) road noise.

This all gave me a HUGE reduction in interior road noise.

Trunk Partition... cuts road noise by 3dB (that's 50%).

Default Combination

Tires are a easy fix.

Noise is vibration - check out insulation kits on forum - several available - look into roll on or spray products that will reduce vibration - do all three and expect great results. Good Luck

There are a lot of good exhaust systems out there that will cause you to not hear the road noise. Also stereo systems.

A good catback system gets rid of any road noise.

I too, was on the quest for a quite ride. In my opinion, to do it right, it doesn't come cheap because you want to use good quality sound dampeners and you need to take the time to apply it correctly. I'm a huge fan of SecondSkinAudio and think they make an outstanding product. Here is a link to my post on the forum when I did the project,

Default This worked for me

A few years ago I a rear-half insulation kit (http://www.exoticvette.com/insulation%20c5.htm) and it made a huge improvement. A full kit would have been better, but it looked far more difficult to install so I stuck with what was easy. This took about 3 hours to install and the total cost (a few years ago, including adhesive) was just under $150 (looks to be $20+ cheaper now).

I also added a Lloyd's cargo mat (http://www.southerncarparts.com/corv...rgo-p-100.html) that further deadened sound. This was around $110 (price hasn't changed since then). This was a nice 1-minute installation.

Both were a great investment IMO, and my cabin noise has been greatly reduced. My engine is another thing, but heads / cam / headers will do that.
