Why would you do that? Hate to burst your bubble but A short throw shifter is not a shorter shifter handle. By cutting your stock shifter handle you are actually icreasing your thwo length and making it harder to shift.
um i thought i just did it cause its more comfy for shifting... and its definately not harder to shift now, but to each his own.
TB coolant bypass. $5 Most people say it doesn't make a performance increase, but it will satisfy your urge to tinker for a few minutes.
Hood seal $12. They claim it causes better airflow to the air filter and and hence more power but that is likely BS. It does seem to cut down a little on dust in the engine compartment.
Lower temp Thermostat. $35 - $50. This will really make you think you're doing something special to your engine. No likely benefit unless you lower cooling fan temps a little, and then still debatable.
Engine oil friction reducing additive (snake oil). $10-$50. You'll swear your engine runs smoother and has an additional 50hp, but a dyno will strongly disagree.
New high performance sparkplug wires. $40+. People who have done this swear it doubles the engines hp output; again a dyno will show no improvement.
Port your stock TB. DIY or have it done for $100. This will actually increase power by 2-3hp on a stock car, and 7-8hp on a car with an aftermarket air filter and headers per LPE (They have no reason to lie about this).
Anything (other than semi-free stuff like zip-tie) worth doing is worth spending more money on. Save the $50 bucks and put it towards imporant things like suspension, headers, shifter, extra rear tires!
Flush mount tail lights with some longer Stainless Steel screws and some fuel tubing to space the lamps back. Five bucks and a little time. Now I want the seals.
1. Add AUX input jack to the factory headunit. Cost about $6. Why pay hundreds for aftermarket wiring harnesses or a crappy FM modulator?
2. Make your own trunk partition. Cost about $20. Cuts down on road noise, a must if you have a loud catback. Makes the radio sound better and less cabin space for the A/C to cool.

In there is a link to all the info you need. Very easy/cheap to do and the sound quality is great. Lemme know if you have any questions. It seems like every so often somebody is pm'n me about that post. I love to help others do this, best mod for the money.
mods corvette and cheap don't go together very well.... Its like asking.. Where can I find some cheap diamonds.... Any how... $50.00 for the Column Lock Bypass if you have not already done it

Not really. It would depend on the mod ofcourse. But there are other mods you could do (like the ones listed so far) for very little.
heres another one, stainless steel screws to replace the stock ones that are already rusted on my (California and Washington) car
This is only noticeable if you are at stock ride height....
add lowering it to the list, blacking out your lights, painting the rear fascia black, hood seal, tail light seals, removing BSM, shortened antenna, etc...
Lowering the ride height without keeping the same rake angle of the car is screwing up your handling....looks cool though!!

Okay, I get the concept. Thanks! Can you post a photo of how and where you mounted the jack? If I understand correctly, you put it inside the console. That seems like a great choice to me, otherwise where would you put the ipod/mp3 player?
