Default Ecklers...Customer service????

What's the deal with Ecklers? I've been trying to place an order for nearly a month using a gift certificate, and have a question. Numerous emails have been ignored, and an attempt to call resulted in a 15 minute wait on hold before I gave up! (While I'm holding a recording is telling me what great customer service they have!) Has this become a common problem?

That stinks!

I hate to jinx myself but I have had nothing but great luck buying from them! I get my orders really quickly and have had the two issues I did have come up easily resolved.

I hate Ecklers for several reasons but I do order from them every so often since I live in Florida and therefore I get overnight UPS delivery..One thing where they screw you is that the prices on their internet site are HIGHER by a good amount than the prices in their catalog..if you question them about they lie about cost increases etc. If you order from the catalog you get the lower prices....service in their Fl store sucks. The sales persons there will shoot the bull with a big order customer and completely ignore you...it's like you are a bother to them by being there. No help whatsoever. And of course all their prices are the highest of all the Vette vendors I have dealing with.

If you do a little research from past threads on this site, you'll see it isn't uncommon with ECKLER'S.

A few years ago there was a company called CLASSIC CHEVY INTERNATIONAL (CCI), also in FL. They were renowned tri five '55-56-57 Chevy parts suppliers. Then ECKLER'S acquired CCI. The company isn't the same anymore.

Four years ago I called ECKLER'S about the availability of LT1/LT4 type magnesium center bolt valve covers. They said they'd call me back in thirty minutes. I'm still waiting.

They do have some stuff that sometimes no one else carries. Their prices can be better than other places. Like GMPARTSDIRECT, if you can't find it anywhere else and you're willing to wait or maybe ignored, they can be a valuable resource.

Personally, I'd rather pay a little more, talk to a live person with customer service abilities and get the part(s) I want when I'm told I'll have them.

I see that you have a gift certificate for them but I always try to avoid using Ecklers whenever possible. Good luck in getting a response from them.

I agree with the above post. The service is spotty at best. I order from them because they are local and I can go pick my items up in person. Their prices are typically on the high side and the customer service is typically lower than the competitors.

I can only relate my problem:

I ordered some fender cover panels for under the hood to be shipped to UK

After 6 weeks they hadn't arrived so I queried the order and got a one liner reply - "8 weeks for delivery"

After 8 weeks I contacted them and said they still hadn't arrived. Got a one liner back which didn't help

Checked after 9 weeks now worried; got a one liner back

They finally arrived 10 weeks after the order.

I honestly thought they'd gone missing. Turns out they'd shipped surface. I'm used to waiting for parts. If I ship by air it costs; if I ship surface I have to wait. I just need to know. A simple explanation and some reassuring words would have been good enough.

Never again

I have gone to the showroom many times when in Fl.and you are right the service really sux, they don't care if you buy or not and when you do order and pay at the counter, you have to leave the show room and walk back to another building where you wait up to 15 min.I have even had them tell me it is out of stock and they will ship it or refund the money, sorry service all around.

From all the bad posts on the forum, people still buy from them... Eckler's bad reviews should be a sticky.

I find it odd that so many people on this forum still buy from those guys with all the posts and threads I see with customer service issues. I'll stay far far away.

I actually received an email from them to participate in a customer service survey. This is after waiting six months for an order, several promises to follow up which never happened, then finally I received a letter stating that the item had been discontinued

I loved doing that survey.......I kinda doubt they liked reading it! Personally, I'll be surprised if they don't go under by the end of the year

I have placed one order with them and will never do it again. I placed my order 5 months ago and every time I call they tell me it will be in on such and such date but guess what still nothing. Now I just call to bother them

You'll find tons of complaints about their customer service in my thread I started after my horrible experience with them.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...r-ecklers.html

BTW, I spent over an hour one day on hold and never got anyone. Then called right back and tried for another 30min and never got anyone.
