I just got back from driving new to me an 04 coupe with HUD and I think from one thousand miles of 100 degree plus, desert heat and sand, my windshield now looks and feels as if it has been sandblasted.
I have tried multiple soaps & rags .....and last night I tried the zaino glass polish and nothing seems to help....
any ideals ???
I am posting this in national and regional sections-thanks
You might try taking clay bar to them but if they are actually pits I think you are screwed. Insurance might pick up the tab if you tell them you drove through a sandstorm. I had a friend in Arizona that got hit by one and they actually replaced the windshield and painted the car
If you often drive on highways, you should have your windshield replaced every 5-6 years or so. This is especially true when we're talking Corvettes, as their low-slung stance is begging for grit-blasting. Sometimes you can find a shop that'll do it for under $500, even if you have HUD.
You could try a windshield polishing kit. It's basically a buffing pad with some compound that you use with a drill or buffer. It will get small impurities out.
