I am new here. Just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and say hello. My name is Jim and I live in Austin, Texas. I lived most of my life in Florida and am really a Gator at heart. I bleed orange and blue, even here in Austin.
I recently purchased my first Corvette. I'm not sure if this is a mid-life crisis, but I'll take more of that please! It is a 2004 Convertible (Red).
As a boy (late 70's) and teenager (80's), I fell in love with these cars. We had a family friend who owned a Chevrolet dealership, it was riding in his 1978 Pace Car edition that I immediately knew one day I would have one of these beautiful creatures. It was love at first sight. It took a long time, but now I have one tucked away in my garage. Better late than never.
With family taken care of and money saved, I will definitely be owning a Corvette for the rest of my life. I will be upgrading within a few years, not sure if I will go retro or new, but it will be a fun ride until I am six feet under.
I look forward to learning more from all of you and sharing whatever I can in the future.

Howdy Jim,
welcome to the forum. There are a lot of us here in Austin. Check out the Southwest section of the forum. A lot of us hang out in Oak Hill at the Y on Saturday evenings. We also have a big event coming up on the 8th at Abuelo's. Come on out and say hi.
